                                                                                                      GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES: Provides library circulation services and assists in the maintenance and processing of library materials. Assists in special library projects as needed. SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Library Circulation Manager SUPERVISION EXERCISED: None DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

                                                                                                      Requirements:
                                                                                                      MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  
                                                                                                      1. Associate's degree or equivalent.  
                                                                                                      2. Work experience in a public or academic library.  
                                                                                                      3. Skill in computer keyboarding and data entry.  
                                                                                                      4. Experience gathering information by examining records and documents.  
                                                                                                      5. Experience working accurately with names, numbers, codes and/or symbols and maintaining accurate records.  
                                                                                                      6. Experience following established workflow and procedures.  
                                                                                                      7. Ability to communicate effectively and to follow oral and written instructions.  
                                                                                                      8. Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time and wheel loaded library book carts.  
                                                                                                      9. Competence in reading, writing and speaking English.  
                                                                                                       
                                                                                                      PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:  
                                                                                                      1. Work experience performing library circulation duties.  
                                                                                                      2. Familiarity with Library of Congress classification system.  
                                                                                                      3. Experience working with online circulation systems.


                                                                                                      Additional Information:

                                                                                                      SALARY and WORK SCHEDULE:  
                                                                                                      This position covers these Alden Library hours:  
                                                                                                       
                                                                                                      -Monday and Wednesday evenings from 3:30 to 9:00 p.m. when evening classes are held (approximately 40 weeks).  
                                                                                                      - Monday and Wednesday evenings from 3:30 to 7:00 p.m. when evening classes are not held (approximately 11 weeks).  
                                                                                                      - Saturday hours during Spring and Fall semesters only, 12:00 noon to 3:00 p.m.  
                                                                                                       
                                                                                                      Persons who cannot begin work at 3:30 on Monday and Wednesday evenings need not apply.  
                                                                                                       
                                                                                                      $11 per hour. No benefits.
